PROOF: Light of the Ocean

$25.00

Volume 1 of PROOF, a zine series featuring the works of youth in the Laru Beya Collective. This Volume, Light of the Ocean, illuminates those perspectives, capturing the world of surfing, water, and movement through the eyes, hands, and hearts of the next generation of BIPOC storytellers of Rockaway.

During Fall/Winter 2025, mentees participated in a Surf Media Intensive led by our volunteers. This project is not just about learning—but about mentorship, skill-building, and breaking cultural barriers. The Laru Beya In-Water Photography and Video Mentorship is creating a space where young BIPOC artists can develop their craft, tell their own stories, and redefine surf media on their terms.
